Position Title: Sr. Manager Regulatory Affairs

Roles and Responsibilities

The leader will

· Provide regulatory strategy and direction to the business regarding regulatory requirements for product launch, premarket submissions/registrations, and post-market compliance, working closely with regulatory bodies

· Monitor and forecast regulatory changes and status within the country and provinces

· Interpret and evaluate proposed/ upcoming regulations and submit regulatory comments/defense to ensure Unilever’s freedom to operate and innovate

· Actively represent, partner, and lead initiatives on behalf of Unilever and/ or industry associations for the evolution of science-based regulations in the consumer goods (FMCG) sector regulatory agencies and trade associations.

· Conduct impact assessments for regulatory changes and coordinate with the business to develop readiness plans.

· Provide advice to development and/or marketing teams on regulatory items

· Oversee the monitoring and management of regulatory matters in areas of regulatory compliance, labeling, product registration, and food safety

· Anticipate problems, identify causes, and act independently or partner cross-functionally to resolve them

· Ensure that Unilever Pakistan’s senior management is fully informed and updated regarding emerging regulatory changes and issues and serves as the first point of regulatory contact with senior external stakeholders

· Works closely with legal, external affairs, and communications teams in managing and representing Unilever externally with senior stakeholders in the government

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in science/ technology from an accredited university. Food Science, Nutrition, and/or Chemistry/ Microbiology are preferred disciplines.

· Minimum 8 years of experience in regulatory affairs

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs

· Strong knowledge and awareness of Pakistan’s regulations and regulatory framework

· Has a strong network and influence within the regulatory departments and industry associations and can comfortably engage with external stakeholders

· Must be flexible and able to confidently manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Able to translate and apply regulations into actionable opportunities, product guidance, and/or external communications

· Strong orientation to detail

· Capable of working independently and productively in an open work environment

· Collaborative, flexible work style with shared accountabilities

· Able to line manage people and willing to train others, at all levels within the organization
